Donations
The Garden State Underwater Recovery Unit is completely self-supported and receives no funding from municipal, county, state or federal governments. All operating revenue is generated by contributions and fund-raising and no money is ever spent on administrative overhead.
Our members are volunteers. They receive no compensation and are responsible for purchasing all of their own diving equipment. The work we do is often emotionally taxing, and we are in constant search for both funding and new members.
As a 501-c(3) non-profit organization, contributions to our organization are tax-deductible.
Contributions of any amount are greatly appreciated and you can rest assured that we will act as good stewards of your donation.

Amazon Smile
Did you know that the GSURU is part of the Amazon Smile program?
Amazon recently launched a new initiative, called Amazon Smile, where a percentage of what is purchased is donated to a charity of your choice. Amazon donates one-half of one percent of each purchase and there is no cost to the consumer.

GSURU is recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization by many organizations, such as the United Way and Givalike, that collect and distribute donated funds, Additionally, regardless of how you donate, your employer may match your donation. Our non profit FEIN is 22-6081784 and our United Way ID is 53836 if you choose to use any of these methods to make your donation.
Donate Equipment
GSURU gratefully accepts donations of SCUBA gear, boats and boating supplies, and many other items critical to our mission. Receipts are available for tax purposes. If you would like to donate equipment, please contact us at 908 995 2022.
